EDWIN ROMOND will return for his third POETRY READING in the gallery. His poems are filled with warmth, wit and wisdom – all with keen insight into the ordinary events of our lives.

Romond was a teacher in Wisconsin and New Jersey for many years. He is the author of eight collections of poetry. His most recent are Asbury Park: Ten Poems and Alone with Love Songs. Blue Mountain Time: Poems about Baseball was selected for the literary archives of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.

Garrison Keillor has read his poems and the late Tim Russert selected Romond’s memoir, “The Ticket,” for his book Wisdom of our Fathers. He has been awarded writing fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Humanities and from New Jersey and Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.

His poem “Champion,” about the friendship between Jesse Owens and German track star, Luz Long, was the recipient of the 2013 New Jersey Poetry Prize.

Artist/Poet Frank Champine of Langhorne, Pennsylvania will introduce Romond.
